Weird in the Suburbs

Hello and welcome to the weird post.

First off, De moved a HUGE HUGE rock. It probably weighed about 300 pounds. Look how strong he is moving the huge rock:

Pull harder!

Almost there!

And now, I'll play my viola on it.

AND! An unexpected but welcome visitor: Kona Ice. That's right, Hawaiian Ice to my door and there's weird kid reaggae music playing the whole time, real loud.

Here are the pictures from this awesome time:

Which one do I want?

This one looks great! And I get to serve myself. All the sugar I want!

And here's a video of the event:

What a great day in the suburbs!

Our First Shower!

Well, my friends at work (Andrea Adkins at the lead) threw De and I our first wedding shower! I was very excited; it was like my birthday but better! The nibblings consisted of: croutons, chocolate milk, cheese, buttercream frosting and white cake, hummus, Dreamsicle punch, brownies, peanut butter brownies, and more! That was all great!

At the beginning, my good friend Christy Chance's son wrote Dewitt and I a song on piano! He performed it in front of everyone! That takes courage. The refrain was "Jessie and De have fun on your honeymoon". Cool, isn't it? Here is a picture of Ryan and I after her sang:

Then it was time to open presents! Here are some photos of the action:

It was a great shower! So much fun!

Who would have thought...

that I would be excited about finding the perfect wedding cake topper. It is called "hold dear to the promise of love" and don't go looking it up online. Wait until the wedding. As soon as I saw it, I knew it was the one because it reminded me of De and I.

Our invitations are in! Now, I just need to make sure I have all the addresses.

De and I are registering for more things. If you are going to get a gift (don't feel obligated), I would suggest going to Bed Bath and Beyond or Target, that is were we are registered for the most stuff right now. Wouldn't want you to hate the 10 items we have on our Macy's registry. We are going to add more. It's hard not to overlap with the other places.

Talk to you guys soon!

Blizzard!

Hello. Remember the other day when there was ALL THAT snow outside? And it accumulated a whole 4 inches? Great for KY, lousy for MI.

Well, De and I got all bundled up. Four layers, thermal underwear, scarves, gloves, hats, everything! We were prepared for a hike in the snow. Here are some pictures of our adventure...

On our way!

Beautiful snowflakes!

VERY COLD!

...our adventure that lasted 10 minutes until we went back inside because we got too cold. We tried, right???

My Birthday!!!

Well, yesterday was my birthday and I must say I had a pretty cool day! (except for the fact that I had to go to class, boo) Here is how the evening went:

I came home and De had all my presents lined up on the coffee table. I got to open one every five minutes starting at 7:30. Here is the sequence:

De is going to teach me to play tennis in the spring. There are courts right by the house.I will be a tennis monster!!

Aren't these beautiful?

Part of the present below is that we are going to a book reading and signing by the author on Friday! And we're going to eat at Ramsey's. Brownie Pie, here I come.

He also made me dinner. He made chicken cordon bleu (somehow, he stuffed a chicken breast with ham and cheese) and cheesy potato casserole. Yummmy! It was excellent.

Me being happy:

De winking at me:

I don't know how he will top this next year!

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day was really great. I got home and made De go in the bedroom and I set up my little Valentine gifts for him on our living room table. I gave him a new pillow, a pair of boxers with XOXO on them, and a CD of a soundtrack to a movie we watched together. He loved it.

Then he gave me my present. I got a bottle of Kahlua, a box of Kahlua chocolate, and the ARISTOCATS! My favorite Disney movie, it just came out on DVD.

Then I made De a surprise dinner. I made Pancetta Wrapped Baked Pork Chops, Balsamic Marinated Sauted Baby Bella Mushrooms, and Pan Fried Rosemary Potatoes. Yum! I didn't eat the mushrooms of course.

While we ate, we watched my new movie. It was a very laid back Valentine's Day, but that's OK because my birthday is next week! Woo Hoo!
